"Mental strength helps you manage your thoughts, regulate your emotions, and behave productively. That means you'll be able to focus your effort and energy on the things that matter most." - Shashi Yoga

A big part of my wellness ritual is connecting with nature. This can be sun gazing, grounding your feet on earth, or even taking a second to admire a tree in a forest. Observing the beauty of nature creates mindful moments, and mindful moments stem gratitude. We are so lucky to call Earth our home.

2020 was the year of the charcuterie board (aka one of the best ways to practice mindful eating) The pandemic slowed down our lives: nowadays we're not always rushing to eat something for the sake of getting some food in the system. Charcuterie boards have the element of enjoyment — a key principle in mindful eating.

Scripting is a practice that can be traced back to ancient times. There is something really powerful about writing out thoughts. Writing helps us decode our thoughts and emotions that may have not been brought out to the surface.

Yoga is about the little milestones and the journey to a better headspace and a healthier body. Hatha yoga is the practice of coordinating the left and right brain with physical movements. When the mind, body, and soul are connected — it induces a flow state. The flow state is a feeling of serenity and connectivity. The beautiful discipline of yoga is about the mind-body-soul connection.

Tackle your fears — try something different — find comfort in discomfort. Doing spontaneous things out of my comfort zone has helped me with self-confidence. The brain recognizes when you overcome a hurdle and rewards our actions. Keep life adventurous and try to feel a little "scared" at times. Becuase overcoming those emotions develops our grit, confidence, and lust for life.

I have a list of 5 core values that I try to live by every day. Recognizing and reciting your values is a powerful tool. I write down these values in my gratitude journal every morning to start my day on a positive note.
